So if you didnt see on my social media, I celebrated my baby shower last weekend. And as my mum and> sister managed to pull off the perfect blogger baby shower I had to share it with you. There were so many little surprises and> nice touches it would be rude not to shout about it.
I had said I didn’t want too much fuss, originally planning on just having a few family and> friends over to my house. But as my house renovations are still ongoing we switched the party to my parents house. And there was some fuss made! There was a little bit of a pink/purple theme as I am having a girl but nothing too over the top, it was all perfect. We spent the first hour chatting and> eating. We just had a bit of a party buffet, sand>wiches, crisps and> that sort of thing. But it all went down a treat! There was of course some fizz for the non pregnant ladies, and> we made Elderflower Fizz as a non alcoholic option, it was yummy. And I got to catch up with friends and> family I don’t see often enough.
Then it was on to some baby shower fun and> games. The 2 games my sister picked were perfect. First up guess the song. There were 16 songs all with Baby in the title. And from a short snippet of the song we had to guess the name and> the artist. I didn’t win! And then there was a who knows Mum best quiz, which was also fun. Although I struggled to answer some of the questions myself so hats off to my Mum for probably knowing me better than I know myself. And with it being a blogger party there had to be some selfie props on hand>. My sister made sure everyone got involved. Even my hubby when he popped back to pick his Mum up.
Finally it was cake and> present time. We were so lucky to be gifted so many lovely things from our friends and> family. Baby Calter is already one spoilt little girl! But myself and> my guests were super spoilt when it came to cake. Although I had been very specific about wanting cake, my mum and> sister did me proud with the main cake, pictured above. Isn’t it stunning! It was made by Jem from SweetJemsBakeryCheshire, check out her facebook page here. I can assure you it tasted as good as it looked. And my brother in law’s girlfriend also made me some amazing cupcakes to go along with the main cake. I love her cakes, she’s super talented and> they were so cute!
To top off the perfect afternoon my sister even did small favours, so everyone got something to take home. They included a little cand>le gift with a small note. The note saying to light the cand>le when baby is born to spread the cheer.
I can’t thank her and> my mum enough for pulling together such a perfect afternoon. I had such an amazing time at my Baby Shower, and> now all there is to do is wait for Baby Calter to make an apperance. Then she can enjoy all her presents, and> I can enjoy some actual fizz.
