Last week I was invited down to the King Street branch of Kiehl’s in Manchester, to learn more about them and> their new limited edition eye treatment. The limited edition avocado eye cream was created in collaboration with Leona Lewis and> MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation. For every pot sold £10 is donated to the Foundation which helps those affected by HIV. I went to the event with the lovely Ellie from EleanorGraceful, it was a great way to spend a Saturday morning. We chatted with the staff and> other bloggers over pastries and> prosecco (Or Juice for me) whilst testing out the new eye cream and> learning more about Kiehl’s and> their collaboration with MTV. We also had individual skincare consultations and> got to see their treatment room.
If you don’t know much about Kiehl’s it is a premium natural skin and> beauty brand>. Starting out as an apothecary in New York, 160 years ago, their flagship store still remains in the same location on Third Avenue, in the East Village. It was during the 1960’s that Kiehl’s turned their attention away from pharmaceutical services and> began developing natural based skin and> hair care products. And it is these products that they are known for today. Kiehl’s skincare is formulated to help customers achieve healthier more radiant skin, and> it is this that appeals to me most about the brand>. I believe that healthy glowing skin helps us to feel better, I love the confidence good skin gives me.
The main purpose of the event however was to raise awareness of the Staying Alive Foundation, and> as mentioned the limited edition avocado eye cream. We were invited to test the product and> I was so impressed. I definitely want to pop back and> purchase a pot. It is made with Shea Butter and> avocado oil so is super hydrating. The texture changes from an oil base to water which adds to the moisturising effects without feeling heavy or leaving any residue. It is a definite winner for me. Kiehl’s practice ‘active generosity’ and> as stated in their mission statement they work to improve the quality of the community to which it is committed. And they support a number of charitable organisations. One of which as mentioned is the MTV Staying Alive Foundation. They host a number of events to raise money for the foundation, and> this eye cream is another way they offer support to the charity. So by purchasing the eye cream you are also helping this great cause, it’s a win win.
I am also very happy to announce that as an ambassador for this great cause I have a fab little treat for you. For everyone of my lovely readers who visits the Kiehl’s King Street store between now and> the end of August you can get your hand>s on this cute little gift bag. All you need to do is donate a minimum of £3 to the Staying Alive Foundation. You do so by texting KIEH99 £3 to 70070, then showing the lovely guys at the store your text and> mentioning my name. So if you are in Manchester why not head there now and> get some lovely Kiehl’s treats for yourself whilst donating to charity.
I would just like to say a massive thank you to the lovely Puneet and> Jane at Kiehl’s Manchester for their hospitality on Saturday. The event was fabulous and> I am so excited to be working with such a great brand>.
