You may have seen on my social media that I recently spent the weekend in Düsseldorf enjoying some real German Christmas Markets.  Travel is a huge passion of mine, I even did my degree in Tourism Management, I wish I could do more.  I’d love to share more of my travel experiences with you although in the future maybe with more of a fitness vibe.  As this Düsseldorf trip was definitely on the indulgent side of my lifestyle. Although we did do lots of walking!

Just over an hour flight from Manchester, in Western Germany, Düsseldorf is exactly what I imagined a German city to look like.  Coloured rendered buildings, and> lots of beer houses. In December the city turns into a winter fairy tale, with illuminated streets and> smells of roasted chestnuts and> cinnamon.

There are hundreds of festive delights across seven locations in the city, beautiful Christmas decorations and> tasty seasonal treats are everywhere.  My favourite of the markets were at Schadowplatz with beautifully decorated wooden huts, and> lots of Christmas decorations to see and> buy.  There is also a mistletoe arch, where you can steal a kiss from a loved one! I also loved the markets at  Marktplatz, with the city hall as a backdrop.  The beautiful Christmas Tree, and> life sized manger are must sees here.

It is hard to not get into the Christmas spirit in Düsseldorf, the sights, the sounds and> of course the smells.  And though not the same as being there, I hope my short video will help you experience a little bit of Christmas In Düsseldorf
