For a while now I have been visiting the fabulous Vivid Lounge in the Ancoats area of Manchester. It is my local and> I love it. So much so I have finally decided to write a little review and> share this hidden gem with you guys.

Vivid is right on my doorstep, a little out of the city centre but worth the few extra steps. Hidden underneath the Islington Wharf development, this quirky little café offers everything you need. From amazing breakfast options, great cakes and> awesome Thai food, Vivid will never leave you disappointed.

Lazy Sunday brunches at Vivid are my favourite. I love sitting by the window and> looking out over Ashton Canal. Sadly I don’t get to spend as many Sunday mornings as I would like here, although everyone would be a little excessive. Breakfast is served every day. Mon-Fri from 07:30 to 11:30 and> weekends it’s available from 09:00 until 14:30. They offer everything from hearty full English breakfasts to the bloggers favourite Avocado Mash on Toast topped with poached eggs. If you want to be even more saintly you can opt for their porridge oats, served with chopped banana, walnuts, brown sugar, and> seeds.

If breakfast isn’t your thing, you can always pop along and> enjoy one of their amazing homemade cakes. They never disappoint! Or just enjoy a coffee on their lovely terrace. With comfy sofa style chairs surrounded by cushions you can while away the afternoon watching the world go by. Vivid also have a great selection of beers and> wine for you to relax with into the evening.

If the breakfast and> cakes at Vivid Lounge are amazing, there are no words describe how good their Thai food is. They offer Custom made Thai Bowls from 12noon to 9pm every day. I love this idea as you can have all your favourites in one bowl. They offer different sizes to suit everyone, from those with smaller appetites to filling even the hungriest of people! Once you have chosen your base, either rice, roti or noodles it’s time to select your curry. It is so hard to pick a favourite but I think the Beef Massaman just about edges it for me. It is a stunning mix of flavours, and> served with the Roti it is a meal made in heaven. You can add extras such as fried onions, basil, coriand>er or boiled eggs amongst others. If you are going for a large bowl you even get added bites – the pork skewers and> chicken wings are to die for. If you would prefer they also offer pre-made bowls so you can either use those for inspiration or just go with one of the staff picks.

I am so lucky to live so close to such a lovely little café. Not only is the food awesome but the staff are as well. They always provide a warm friendly welcome. If you haven’t tried Vivid yet you must.
