Last Friday I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the new active women range from MyProtein. Heading down to Hale Country Club & Spa early Friday morning I was looking forward to what MyProtein had in store.
On arrival we were greeted by the lovely MyProtein girls with a pre workout smoothie, and> snacks to prepare us for our CoreBlimey workout to come. They tasted great and> were all made with products from the range. It was fab to see some familiar faces Sophie (@sophiesscran) and> Ali (@mybigfitdiary). Great to meet some new bloggers as well including Becky (@beckyhblog) and> Lisa (@GirlGeekInDress).
After a quick catch up it was time to move on to the workout, a CoreBlimey session focusing on Core strength and> Cardio intervals. The instructor was amazing, super cheery and> motivating. The workout was different to the type of training I usually do but I loved it. Lots of ab work, and> a bit of dancing thrown in as well. We ended the session with a Spice Girls routine, which bought back memories from my childhood dancing days.
Recovering from the workout it was time to learn more about new the range with a short presentation. Before telling us about the products, we were advised on the power of protein and> the benefits of eating a protein rich diet. I love the concept of a protein range specifically catering to women even if it’s just the pretty pink colours that make it more appealing.
The range covers all bases from pre & post workout to snacks & desserts. I have yet to sample all the products but 2 of my favourites include the Protein Bites & Protein Dessert. The protein bites are crisp like snacks. I tried the Southern Bbq Chicken Flavour at the launch and> they were yummy. Around 100 calories a bag with 11g of protein, they satisfy a crisp craving but keep you feeling fuller. The protein dessert is a great snack or dessert again keeping you feeling satisfied. It is kind of like Angel Delight, which may bring back more childhood memories for some. Me I was never actually a fan as a kid!
There are a few products I haven’t managed to try yet, the protein shakes and> the pre-workout being the main ones. I was really intrigued by the pre-workout and> can’t wait to try it. I’ve always been a little wary of pre-workout drinks and> avoided them. Mainly due to the high caffeine content and> the jittery feeling that comes with that. However chatting about the new woman specific product from MyProtein and> the benefits I am going to give it a go. Look out for another blog post on that soon.
We were treated to some Treats from The Raw Artisan which went down well following the Core Blimey workout. My favourite were the White chocolate & fudge, which I think were a hit with everyone! Then it was time for selfies and> to head home.
Overall I think the range is great. Women’s bodies do differ vastly from men’s and> therefore having a range designed specifically for us ladies, packed full of beneficial ingredients is a huge positive. Hopefully more women will embrace the benefits of protein, and> whilst real is best proper supplementation can be a poweful thing.
