Wow I can’t quite believe I am half way through my 12 week plan from Becca Smith. ( Although it has been a struggle I am so happy with where I am at this point. I have lost 5kg, and> over 5 inches, I feel the best I have felt in ages – possibly ever! If you are unsure about what I am talking about, where have you been for the past 6 weeks! No seriously you can check out more on why I decided to contact Becca, and> get myself a plan on previous blog posts – there is also one on how I got on over the first 3 weeks.

The past 3 weeks have been a little bit tougher, and> there have been a few more bumps in the road. My results have slowed down, which is only natural but with it my motivation levels have taken a pretty massive dip. I came down with illness towards the end of Week 4 and> I went a little off track. I stuck to the majority of the plan, but skipped one workout to have an extra rest day and> indulged in a little more comfort food. Salted Caramel Muffin anyone?! My 4 weeks results were still good, but I think my illness had a knock on effect to the week after, and> as I had a couple of events planned over Week 5 it made it more difficult to stick to the plan as religiously.

Over the past 6 weeks I have definitely learnt a lot, I have found it much easier to stick to a food plan than I thought I would. I have actually found having the strict rules to follow has made it easier, once you start to allow yourself little treats here and> there it can get out of control. I am looking forward to a little more freedom but I think the more strict eating principles will be continued after I’ve finished the plan. I have also learnt that I can push my body a lot further than I ever thought I could. Yes sometimes during training sessions I’ve felt like crying, or giving up but knowing I won’t get the results unless I put in the effort has really spurred me on to push through. Over the 6 weeks I have only missed one of the sessions, before taking on this plan I would never have trained as consistently.

All that being said, I felt I needed more of a break at the end of week 6 so I made the decision to train 5 days consecutively. I could then mark the halfway point with 2 full days rest. One of which was spent at a spa – relaxing, recovering and> getting a good old massage for my tired muscles. This has really geared me up for the next 6 weeks and> I want to push on and> get some more fantastic results!
